Samuel Potts of Perryville, KY area is belived to be a brother of John. They are about the same age, both are from PA. They lived very near each other. They were both merchants. These men's connection to a David Potts (who has been researched a great deal) seems likely. For decades, John Potts's family was the only POTTS in Pottsville, Washington Co., KY and yet the town is allegedly named for David. John's marriage to Catherine Bach Barker came when he was in his late 30s. I believe one of the "John's" accounted for in other Potts research will end up being this same John.
